My James is a boy who doesn`t give up - which makes him lucky. As you`ve gathered, he has dyslexia and dyspraxia so found reading and writing difficult (dyspraxia means he retains infantile reflexes - his fine motor skills like grasping a pen in his hand take concentration, he has a retained startle response which means that keeping focused in a classroom full of children takes effort) that he could barely read and write at 11 years. However, this year aged 16, he has won the English Literature scholarship to 6th form!!! How`s that for sheer grit!
He loves his teachers and wants them to be proud of him.
Dear Sarah, I've actually been doing some tweaking to your weblog today - you may notice it looks subtly different ! Just trying to set things up so you can accept pings and trackbacks and I think, by golly, I've done it as I can see a trackback URL above. You have used the trackback URL to link to my post instead of the permalink, but you must have dropped the trackback URL in the right box on your blog posting, as I got an email notification immediately. Well done! Talk soon, Nicola
